Taj Mahal Seen Through Arches - Agra, India

Posted by Scott Rippee (Fresno, United States) on 17 March 2010 in Architecture and Portfolio.

This was taken across from the Taj Mahal at an archway lined building. I was happy with how the Taj came out from this distance and angle in comparison to straight on, which I have more commonly seen and had a lot of people in the way.

It's not very visible here, but the Taj Mahal's marble is inlaid with various stones and in the night it has a glow from the moonlight due to a yellow stone that I can't remember the name of. I was told that it is open at night, now, so people can experience it's color in the moonlight.

It was extremely smoggy when I took this so the photo so I did selective editing on the sky to bring out some blueness, increased definition and sharpness, and reduced highlights a bit.

Thanks for the visit. Your comments, critiques, and suggestions are more than welcome!

Very cool. I think that this is my new favorite. It almost looks like a painting.
